REP. BOBBY SANCHEZ VISITS SMALLEY ACADEMY CELEBRATING
READ ACROSS AMERICA

State Rep. Bobby Sanchez participated in a Read Across America event in New Britain where he enjoyed a special day with students.

During the event, Sanchez read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss to fourth grade students at Smalley Academy.

“As Mark Twain once said, ‘The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.’ Reading to young children and teaching them the importance of becoming devoted readers is the best gift we can leave them. It was such an honor to spend this quality time with this amazing group of children. Let’s keep Dr. Seuss legacy alive by celebrating everyday with our kids the joy of reading,” Rep. Sanchez said.

Read Across America was established in 1998 to initiate a national celebration of reading that encourages parents and role models to read with children. The program is set around March 2 of every year to recognize the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.
