DILLON'S DIRT BIKE LAW LEADS TO TOUGHER PENALTIES
FOR NEW HAVEN SCOFFLAWS

Illegal riders will have to pay a steep fine. The state law (HB 6638)  increased the fines on illegal riders from a maximum of $250 to a maximum of $1000 for the first offense. Fines increase to a maximum of $1500 then $2000 for subsequent offenses. The Board of Aldermen Monday voted unanimously to increase fines to the new levels supported by state law.
